Please stop by the Learning Commons (2nd floor of the Student Success Center) and browse the collection! Better yet, ask your liaison librarian for a tour.
You can also use the Library Search to look for a specific book.
YES! We want you to borrow items from us!
Most Western library materials are available to borrow for free, with some special collections (such as reference and course reserves) designated for in-library use only. Western Library items may be borrowed by Western students, faculty, and staff. Community members with a Winding Rivers public library card may also borrow materials from our library collection.
Nope. While we appreciate you (and your students) returning materials by the due date, we don't charge overdue fines if the materials are returned in good condition.
In addition to Western's library collection, students and staff may request and borrow materials from other libraries. Use our Interlibrary Loan Request Form to request materials from other libraries. Delivery of interlibrary items usually takes 1-2 weeks and deliveries only happen twice each week, so planning ahead is crucial.
Need help? Ask a librarian.
We ask that library materials be returned in a timely manner or renewed, but we don't charge fines for items that are returned (even if they're a few days late). Books may be returned in the drop box outside the Student Success Center or in the drop box located inside the entrance to the Learning Commons. Staff and faculty may also place library items in an interdepartment envelope marked "Learning Commons/Library" and drop in the mail.
