Using Microsoft Word for Writing and Citing Sources

IMPORTANT! Use MLA 9 Citations for your Works Cited List

Microsoft Word uses an OLD version of citations -- MLA 7 Style.  MLA 9 is the most up-to-date version and includes the URL or a DOI of the source after the publication date. Database have built-in citation tools you can use to copy/paste the correct citation. Look for the word "Cite" or "Citation" on the page with article to link to the citation.
