WESTERN LOGINS
Your MyWestern, Western student email, Blackboard, and network user accounts are synchronized so they use the same password.
Here is what you should use for your username for each of these accounts:
- MyWestern – Use your student ID number.
- Western student email – Use your student email address.
- Blackboard – Use your student ID number.
- Network user – User your student ID number.
IMPORTANT
- The MyWestern link Self-service New will take you to the new Student Information System. Western is using Microsoft Single-Sign-on which requires you to set up an authentication method for your student accounts.
- You must set up an authentication method before logging in to the new Self-Service for the first time.

NOTE: To change your password now or in the future, you need to have an authentication method setup. (Microsoft Authenticator):

If you have already setup an authentication method and need to change your password, please choose one of these options:

EMAIL
Will link you to your Western Student email account - Microsoft Outlook. Checking your email daily or at least twice a week. You receive emails about updating your password every so often. Be sure to flag or pin the password change emails so you have a link you can use to update your password more conveniently. If you can’t remember your password don’t guess because you can be locked out of your account and must call PC Services to reset your password.
After you change your password, you may need to wait a few minutes for it to synchronize with all your accounts (Office 365, Western email, network user account).

Cool Fact: if you sign into Blackboard first you will automatically be signed into your email if you use the SSO (single sign-in) method, using your student email address and be taken directly to your student email inbox.
