The Open Western Fellowship program was designed in 2023 to provide support for faculty in identifying and customizing existing OER and/or creating new OER to align with Western courses. This program was funded through a grant provided by the WTCS and the State of Wisconsin to promote the development and use of Open Educational Resources (OER) to enhance student learning experiences, reduce textbook costs, and promote equitable access to educational materials.
Grant awards ranged from $1500 to $3000 and projects were proposed for completion during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years. During this grant cycle, 30 OER development projects were completed. This grant cycle is now closed but the resources have been retained for future reference.
