Notes from Keri:
I'm happy to "meet" all of you as we talk through the different types of writing you'll encounter in this program. In the Part I video, you'll learn about how the purpose, audience, and author influence the message in any piece of writing. We'll also discuss the difference between learning to write (academic writing) and writing to learn (reflective writing). In the Part II video, we'll compare and contrast examples of formal writing and reflective writing. In the Part III video, we'll look more closely at the specific qualities of effective reflective writing. In the Part IV video, we'll take a look at some different examples of reflective writing and evaluate their effectiveness. Finally, in the Part V video, we'll talk about how all of this applies to an upcoming writing assignment you'll be completing for this class. I've also included 2 specific strategies (graphic organizers) you can use to plan and complete this writing assignment.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
