10.03.25 Intro to OT Evidence-Based Practice Lesson Materials

Hello from your librarian!

I'm excited to introduce you to the topic of Evidence-Based Practice. Through the videos and activities below we will look at
the definition, importance, and relevance of EBP for the COTA (video 1) and some challenges to EBP in real life (video 2). Then we'll work through an activity in which we examine 4 different information sources and observe how they differ (video 3). This will lead into an initial discussion about guidelines for credibility (video 4)--though we will return to this topic later in another course in the program. Finally, I'll demonstrate how to locate scholarly articles on an OT intervention (video 5). All together, this content should introduce you to the basics of Evidence-Based Practice and help you complete your EBP assignment. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at rangee@westerntc.edu. Thanks for your engagement with this topic--it's an important one!
