Interior Design Program Guide

General purpose guide collecting information and library resources for interior design.

Programming and Research for Interior Design

Programming is the investigation and analysis of the problem.

It involves understanding precisely what the problem or issue is, generally through the process of doing research

"Programming, the preliminary research and analysis of all facets of a design project"
Rose Mary Botti-Salitsky in Programming & Research: Skills and Techniques for Interior Designers.

Design is the synthesis of the problem.

It involves creation of a viable and appropriate solution.

The subpages of this part of the guide (listed on the left) collect resources and tips for engaging in research tasks and programming phases. It's a starting point, not an exhaustive list, so don't hesitate to reach out to your instructor or your librarian for additional support.
