Save Money Using Library Resources (Free Textbooks!?)

This guide collects information about services the library offers that can save you money.

Study spaces, snacks and more!

In addition to the Library, Western's Learning Commons provides access to a wide variety of study spaces, technology, and many academic support services. It's a great place to focus on getting your assignments done. You can work independently or in a small group or get help from one of the many instructors and staff members available.

Many students find that they do best when they set aside a specific place and time to do their studying. The Learning Commons is a great place for students and, unlike a coffee shop or restaurant, you don't have to buy something to study here!

Answers to common questions about our study spaces and services:

  • All our study spaces are first-come, first-serve so you don't need to reserve them.
  • Yes, food and beverages are allowed (we even provide snacks!).
  • You do not need an appointment to visit the Writing Center, Math Center, or Science Center. Just drop in!
  • We are an academic space but not a silent one.
  • Yes, we offer giveaways throughout the year (school supplies, hats, stickers, swag, and more!)
