New Resource: Films on Demand Master Career and Technical Education Collection

We're excited to introduce a new streaming video resource this spring: Films on Demand Master Career and Technical Education Collection. The name is certainly a mouthful (we just call it "Films on Demand"), but it's a handy collection with videos related to:

• Careers and Job Search (including overviews of career fields and insights into job search skills and career success)
• Computer Science and Information Technology (including history of computers, computing, information technology, and computer science)
• Family and Consumer Science (including first aid, nutrition, child care, kitchen and food safety, financial health, fashion, interiors, and independent living)
• Fashion Studies (including history of fashion, cultural impact of style, and career spotlights on designers)
• Guidance and Counseling (including skills like time management, mitigating stress, and dealing with peer pressure)
• Technical and Trade Education (including topics in construction, cosmetology, communication, agriculture, applied engineering, manufacturing, and more).

Western has had access to the Films on Demand: Criminal Justice and Law collection for several years, but we hope these new resources will assist students with their studies and instructors with their teaching. Content comes from many providers, including ABC, NBC, BBC, National Geographic, Open University, A&E, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Cambridge Education, and more. All videos can be shared or embedded into courses, assignments, emails, and more. You can view or share a segment or the whole video. Ask a librarian if you'd like help navigating the collection or using a video.
