Although the Learning Commons/Library is closed, you can still access books using the Library Catalog - a databases that provides a list of books and materials owned or available through Western Library.
One way to find a book in the library, is to go to the library website and click the red button -
(CATALOG).
In the search box, enter a word related to your topic to find out what books Western Library has available. A list of books on the topic will be displayed.

Use the Filter Tool in the left column to show only E-resources.

Click on the gray box beneath the book. Although the message beneath the book states, "An electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web" the book is actually stored in one of the library databases

You will be asked to login with your Western ID.

Review the Table of Contents to see if the book will be useful to you. The chapters titles are links.

OR you can open the book by clicking on the PDF link.

"Turn" the pages by clicking the forward or back arrows at the bottom of the page, or by typing a number in the page number box.

You are able to download the book to read offline. You are also able to save, print, and copy/paste limited parts of the book. (You will get a warning when you approach your limit.)
